Continued energy gas supply for Esperance homes and businesses

For the 379  homes and businesses connected to the Esperance Gas Distribution Network, the WA Government successfully secured ongoing gas supply beyond 31 March 2022.

The extension agreement negotiated between Horizon Power and the Esperance Gas Distribution Company - secures an additional 12 months of reticulated gas supply under the same pricing terms and conditions.

Horizon Power and Energy Policy are developing a long-term energy solution for impacted customers

Horizon Power doesn’t sell gas, but we want customers using the Esperance Gas Distribution Network to have access to reliable and secure energy.

If you’re connected to the Esperance Gas Distribution Network, it’s important you register your details with us so we can keep you up to date with important information and changes that impact the way you access gas, and what future solutions may be planned for your energy supply. 

No, Horizon Power doesn’t have a retail gas license or offer any gas products. However, we will be exploring a range of alternative options with Energy Policy WA to safely transition impacted customers before March 2023.

Impacted customers will continue to be supplied gas until March 2023. We're currently working with the WA Government including Energy policy WA to develop a transition program to replace this supply. 

We will keep you informed of proposed solutions as we work through affordable, suitable options.

We recommend  that  you  await  further  information  before  making  any  changes  to your  existing gas  supply  or  gas  appliances.  It is important that you stay up to date with information we will provide to the Esperance community. 

No, if you currently use gas that is supplied through bottled gas and not the reticulated gas network, you’re gas supply won’t be impacted.
