How long will it take to get a new connection?

We aim to acknowledge your application within three to four business days of receipt of your application and provide an estimate or formal quote within four weeks.

As soon as you have paid the formal quote, we will commence scheduling and procurement of materials.

Construction will typically commence within 12 weeks from receipt of payment. This allows for the procurement of long lead time items, for example, transformers, which have a usual delivery time averaging between eight and 12 weeks.

You or your builder will need to engage the services of a licensed electrical contractor to connect your property from the meter box to the property. You should factor in time to enable this work to take place and for Horizon Power to inspect the property following completion. If at inspection it is identified additional work is required before the property can be energised, additional time may be required for your electrician to undertake these works and for Horizon Power to reinspect.
