It is important that a licensed electrical contractor inspects your power poles and powerlines to ensure they are in a good and safe condition. Never climb a pole, approach the wires, cut any vegetation near wires or attempt any electrical repairs yourself.

If your power poles or powerlines are not safe or need maintenance work, you are responsible for organising and paying for any work required.

Failure to inspect and maintain power poles and powerlines can result in them being damaged or brought down by strong winds, falling trees and branches; or suffering defects such as rotting or white ant damage. All of these can create a serious safety and bushfire risk.
