Energy Minister Bill Johnston today announced the appointment of former Horizon Power’s Stephen Edwell as independent chairperson for the Western Australian Government’s new Energy Transformation Taskforce.
The Taskforce has been established to lead the development and implementation of the State’s Energy Transformation Strategy and a Distributed Energy Resource Roadmap.
"On behalf of Horizon Power, I would like to congratulate Steve on this opportunity and thank him for his contribution to our business since joining as Chair of our Board in April last year. Steve was instrumental in guiding Horizon Power through a time of change as we went through the process of recruiting a new CEO and redefining our strategic objectives," CEO Stephanie Unwin said.
"We wish Steve all the very best as he tackles this new challenging and important role to lead the development and implementation of the State’s Energy Transformation Strategy and a Distributed Energy Resource Roadmap".
