Horizon Power selects Fujitsu for IT contract

Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, a leading provider of ICT business solutions, has won a three year, end-to-end managed services contract with Horizon Power. The contract includes end-to-end IT infrastructure support based in Western Australia, for Horizon Power" staff and contractors across the State.

Tim White, Fujitsu's Group Executive Director Managed Services, said: "We are proud to have been chosen to provide vital ICT support services for Horizon Power. This is another opportunity to leverage our mature service delivery capability, best practice and extensive field services capability to be able to help Horizon Power to service its geographically dispersed customers."

In commissioning the Fujitsu service James Deacon, General Manager Knowledge and Technology at Horizon Power said: "We were looking for an outsourcing partner who not only understood our IT requirements, but also supported our mandate to deliver inter-generational assets to the communities we service. The successful partner needed to have a proven service delivery capability and the ability to leverage processes and expertise from a national and global pool of resources, from a local base, allowing Horizon Power to provide greater efficiencies at all of our sites.

"Right through the competitive selection process, Fujitsu demonstrated its ability to deliver and a willingness to partner with us in an area of great importance to our business, that of Aboriginal employment in WA, across various fields of work. The engagement of Fujitsu’s senior executives throughout the process gave us the confidence that we had selected the right partner to work with."

Mike Foster, CEO of Fujitsu Australia and New Zealand, said: "Fujitsu will be playing a vital part in enabling Horizon Power to deliver vital services across its widespread coverage area. We will be able to leverage our Energy Sector expertise as well as our significant investments in the local region to deliver a seamless infrastructure support service."
