Horizon Power’s Managing Director Frank Tudor has been selected as a finalist in The CEO Magazine’s 2015 national Executive of the Year Awards.
Mr Tudor is the only Western Australian nominated for the Energy and Resources Executive of the Year Award who has made it through to be a finalist.
The national Awards recognise the achievements of individual executives over the past year and the contributions they have made to their companies. It is one of the most important and respected events on the business calendar.
Mr Tudor said he was honoured to be selected as a finalist and his nomination reflected the ongoing hard work and dedication of all Horizon Power employees.
“I would like to win this award for my team to ensure they receive the recognition they rightly deserve for the change we achieved in reducing the cost of a government owned business by more than 50 per cent, while still maintaining the faith of the community and our customers.”
Mr Tudor has been Managing Director of Horizon Power, Western Australia’s State Government owned regional electricity supplier, since 2012.
Mr Tudor has over 27 years’ experience in the European, Asian and Australian oil, gas and power industries where he has held various executive management roles.
Before joining Horizon Power, he worked with BP managing commercial issues to develop gas interests in PNG for the Chinese energy market. He also worked for Woodside where he was responsible for managing business development activities.
For the past 12 years Mr Tudor has also been a part-time lecturer in oil and gas economics, and oil and gas legal frameworks at the University of Western Australia; is the Vice Chairman of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry's (CCI) Energy and Resources Forum; a Board member of the Federal Government's Australia China Council; and a member of the ANU China in the World Advisory Board.
Winners will be announced at a gala dinner in Melbourne on Thursday, 26 November.
