Leonora power restored – Horizon Power thanks community

Horizon Power has restored power to the 450 Leonora customers who were affected when strong winds and lightning brought down powerlines on Sunday night.

Horizon Power Goldfields Esperance Retail and Community Manager Donna Gibson said Horizon Power crews, together with external contractors, had worked extremely hard to restore power as safely and quickly as possible.

“We would really like to thank the Shire of Leonora for the fantastic support it has provided in ensuring that the community was informed and assisted,” Ms Gibson said.

“Chief Executive Officer Jim Epis and his staff have been extremely helpful in contacting customers and providing valuable advice.

“We would also like to thank our customers for their cooperation and patience over the last few days.”

Power has also been restored to 45 Esperance customers who were affected by stormy weather on Monday night.

Householders who have been impacted by power outages lasting 12 hours or more may be eligible for compensation.
